What is LPU?
Meet & Greets
When the band is on tour, members can sign up for the chance to meet the whole band in their "Meet & Greets." Linkin Park has held Meet & Greets at nearly every show since the inception of the band. These signings regularly take place at every tour date, before the show, and also occasionally at special events. LPU members who are selected for the Meet & Greet receive a special laminate and take a group photo with the band and other LPU members to remember the event. Signups are available through the LPU website.
International LPU Summit Events
With LPUX came the launch of the first LPU International Summits at Linkin Park tour dates. An LPU Summit is a multi-activity event that joins LPU members from all over the world for an exclusive, intimate experience. Although each Summit's activities vary, fans have historically gotten to meet the band, watch sound checks and intimate acoustic performances, take pictures on the band's stage with their instruments, work on Music For Relief charity events, tour the crew bus and backstage, and more. LPU12 PLUS Annual Members ($60) receive invitations to Summits and can attend for free. LPU12 Annual Members ($25) may attend for an additional fee.
Video Chats With Linkin Park
Linkin Park band members come by the chat room to video chat live and answer questions directly from LPU members via the exclusive LPU Video Chat. Band members also stop by unannounced for surprise chats. The chat room is also available 24 hours a day for members to text and video chat and get to know each other better.
Other Special Event Opportunities
As a member you have the chance for admission to events that are not accessible to any other Linkin Park fans. When special event access is available, LPU members have been included in past experiences such as: audience members in the "Faint" music video, the Transformers movie premiere performance, the A Thousand Suns CD album release laser light show and premiere, the Video Music Award's performance of "The Catalyst," testing events of the video game "8-Bit Rebellion," entry to watch Linkin Park rehearse for the Projekt Revolution Tour, and more.
Does Membership Get Me Perks at Linkin Park Shows?
Presale Tickets: Another wildly popular benefit of joining the LPU: LPU members have access to purchase tickets before everyone else. Presale ticketing through LPU reserves the best seats in the house set aside for LPU members. Information about how to access these presales is posted prior to the tour date and sent in an email to members. Presale access is available to all Annual Members.
Early Entry: Early entry gets you to your seats right away, or a great spot to watch the show from the floor (for GA tickets), or get a good spot in line at the merch booth. The laminate in the merchandise package is more than just a cool thing to wear… it’s your way to get early access at the venue.
What Do I Get Online?
One way to get the most out of your LP Underground membership is to visit LPUnderground.com often. Besides the benefits of making and keeping in touch with new and old friends, there are loads of valuable features on the site that are a part of every membership.
LPU-TV Exclusive Video Episodes: LPU-TV episodes are members-only videos that include rare footage shot specifically for LPU members and show a behind the scenes view of the band. They often also showcase your fellow LPU members. New videos are added regularly, so check back often. All members have access to view all LPU-TV Episodes, and for the first time LPU12 members are able to download LPU-TV episodes. Members also have the capability to download all videos.
LPTV Archive Downloads: LPTV is a unique series of video clips dating back to the early 2000s. These episodes chronicle the history of the band, but most notably capture some of the most intimate and important moments in Linkin Park history. LPU members have special access to download the episodes—as many as they want, for no extra charge. This is an incredible benefit of being an LPU member, since one short season of LPTV currently sells on iTunes for $19.99US (you do the math). The videos are currently optimized for laptop, iPad, and select phones. LPTV Archive videos are viewable by all LPU members.
LPU Community: The LPU offers fans of Linkin Park access and connections to members from around the world, and provides them a place to share their experiences. The brand new LPU12 website allows members to connect in forums or follow news and post on the LPU Blog.
LPU Auctions: LP Underground members have the exclusive opportunity to own intimate parts of LP history through auctions of limited edition and rare merchandise. LPU Headquarters has launched online auctions to all current members of the LP Underground. You’re able to bid on a vast amount of items ranging from awards and plaques to autographed pictures, and more. LPU will host one auction per month featuring various LP items.
What Physical Merchandise Do I Get?
The current $60 LPU12 PLUS merchandise package includes a t-shirt (sizes XS-XXL), custom water bottle, carabiner keychain, guitar pick and lanyard and membership laminate. The $25 LPU12 Annual merchandise package includes the lanyard and membership laminate only.
Where Does My Money Go?
Linkin Park does not make money from the LP Underground. The membership fees and merchandise purchases from the store go straight back into the LPU so we can continue to provide members the best experience possible.
